  1. vanilla server install (32bit)
  2. adding dlink cameras with no problems
  3. Setting the resolution to 640×480 got me errors.

Patching /usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder/Memory.pm at line 130: 

The patch for i386 ($arch should be 32 here but perl uses 64 bit integer):

  -our $arch = int(3.2*length(~0));
  +our $arch = 32; beyond 320x240
